Prior to starting Praxes, Ji Young worked at the New York office of Shigeru Ban Architects and Asymptote Architecture. After completing several interdisciplinary projects over the past decade, Ji Young has established Praxes, based in Brooklyn. She believes design can improve everyday lives and transform them into something extraordinary.


ASYMPTOTE

From 2008 to 2009, Ji Young worked on several built and visionary design proposals at Asymptote Architecture in New York. The Yas Hotel project in 1Abu Dhabi was one of the most cutting-edge built projects Ji Young worked on, requiring experience in the latest freeform geometry design, coordination methods, and fabrication technologies.

SHIGERU BAN ARCHITECTS

Prior to starting Praxes, Ji Young worked in the New York office of Shigeru Ban Architects from 2010 to 2017. SBA is a Pritzker Prize-winning, critically acclaimed global firm that has offices in Tokyo, Paris, and New York.

Ji Young is experienced with projects in various sizes and scope, ranging from new construction to renovation of cultural, commercial and residential projects.

Many of these projects have been published and awarded internationally, especially the Aspen Art Museum, it won several prestigious awards for design excellence and innovative practice in the use of its material and structural system, including the AIA National Institute Honor Award for Architecture and the American Architecture Award of the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture.
